Some time ago I saw a gif or video of an interpolation between 2 images using gan models. I wanted to try and recreate it. I found a good colab notebook and found 2 images of people and tried it.
- Do you think you were successful? Why or why not?
I think it was successful, there are some artifacts due to cropping but it ended up good.
- Did your project come out somewhere other than what you expected when you started? Or did it go mostly as you envisioned?
It mostly ended up what was expected, however I learned more so it wasn’t 100% expected.
- Can you think of examples of mashups you have experienced or noticed out in the world?
Mashups or mix of songs, audio, images, videos.
- What do you think of the Girls Around Me app? Is it cool? Is it creepy? Should it be illegal? If it is not illegal, who should protect us from software that many people see as predatory?
I haven’t heard of such things before, but I think this is just one of the possible outcomes of people not caring about their privacy more (software is flexible). As for if it should be illegal, it would be hard (if not impossible) to then define what kinds of software should be illegal and how it should be enforced.
